"On meeting Phil Marshall from Marshall Landscapes and his son Stan, we immediately felt confident in their honest, down-to-earth approach. We felt their price was very fair, especially since they worked with us to adjust things based on our choices and needs. The job included replacing our old Indian slate patio, which had aged poorly over the years, removing rotten sleepers, and building a substantial new retaining wall. The retaining wall was a key part of the job—they had to completely remove the old, rotted sleepers and construct a solid wall that now securely supports the garden. Another important part of the job was redoing the drainage, as the original system was nowhere near sufficient for the patio’s size, so they installed a much larger system that has fully resolved the issue. Phil and suggested durable ceramic tiles that looked more modern and we also got to choose a lovely light cladding for the retaining walls. Thanks to them, the result is an easy-to-maintain space that can be washed down and should stand the test of time. They let us make the choices, gave fantastic ideas—especially with the steps—and took pride in their work. They didn’t rush or cut corners, and it was a pleasure having them around. Since they completed this, we’ve had them back to put in a new hedge and border, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. We’re looking forward to having them back next year for another project."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Marshall Landscapes Review (Bournemouth) We hired Marshall Landscapes to replace our shared boundary with a modern composite fence and to dig out our driveway for a future build in Bournemouth. From the first visit, Phill was excellent—he brought physical samples and specs from several suppliers (Cladco, EnviroBuild, NeoTimber, SAiGE, Ecoscape and DuraPost), talked us through finishes and trims, and helped us choose Cladco Pewter. Having the samples in hand really helped. The team set posts and rails properly, fitted the caps neatly and kept the run perfectly straight. They were sensible about the weather—waiting for a decent window so the concrete could cure properly rather than rushing. They even organised Heras fencing so the curious dog stayed safe during the works. We also needed a serious driveway dig-out. Phill & Stan brought the digger, used a breaker to remove all the concrete, and pulled out deep-rooted trees/stumps. They organised a 15-tonne grab lorry for muck-away and laid Type 2 (MOT) stone, so we can still park while we plan the next phase. Communication was clear throughout, the site was left tidy each day, pricing was fair and transparent, and the finish is spot on. Both households are really pleased. I’ve used Phil over the years for larger landscaping projects (including replacing fencing across five neighbouring properties), and he’s always made potentially complicated jobs stress-free.
